BUYING

Coins: We buy all coins from the 18th or 19th centuries. In addition, we buy all U.S. silver coins from the 20th century (dimes, quarters, halves, and dollars up to 1964), Buffalo Nickels, Wartime Nickels, and wheat cents. We also buy proof sets and commemorative coins. We buy foreign coins, especially from Canada, but that is not our specialty.

Paper Money: We buy all US paper money pre-1935, and modern error bills.

Jewelry: We buy all gold and silver jewelry, whether whole or broken, plain or with diamonds and other stones. Unlike other jewelers, we only melt those items which are broken or have little or no demand. Vintage pieces have a history, and we make every effort to find new homes and a new life for these pieces. Because we deal in volume, maintain a low overhead, and resell rather than melt your jewelry whenever possible, we are almost always able to offer more than our competition for your gold and silver items.

Silver Flatware and Holloware: We buy all sterling silver items, whether flatware, bowls, tea sets, trays, or otherwise.

Bullion: We buy all gold and silver bullion bars and coins.

About Putnam

Putnam is located along I-395 in the Northeast Corner of Connecticut, also known as the Quiet Corner. Surrounded by New England farming communities settled in the 1700’s, Putnam became the commercial center of Northeastern Connecticut in the late 1800’s and boasts a lovely Victorian era downtown. Less than an hour from Boston, Providence, Hartford, Worcester, and New London, Putnam has fortunately been able to maintain its rural character. All our downtown businesses are one of a kind, owner operated establishments. Art galleries, antique shops, and restaurants fill our downtown, where parking is always free and everything is just a short walk away. From the oyster bar at 85 Main, to the Judge’s menu at the Courthouse Restaurant, to fresh coffee and pastries at Victoria Station Cafe, to gourmet pizza at Someplace Special and all the toppings you can imagine at Nikki’s Dog House, to four floors of antiques and collectibles at The Antiques Marketplace, visitors find friendly service and reasonable prices. There’s always something happening here seven days a week, so stop by or check out our area Facebook pages:
